A mystery woman gatecrashing Friday’s Olympics opening ceremony has captured the world’s media attention.
The young woman in blue trousers and a red jacket, marched along with the Indian delegation during the athletes parade. India’s Deccan Chronicle identified the woman as Madhura Honey, a postgraduate student from Bangalore.
Indian officials have complained about the intrusion. London organising chief Sebastian Coe said the woman was "a cast member who clearly got slightly over-excited." Coe said he would soon explain the incident to the Indian delegation.
