The best-kept courtyard house in Beijing, the Gong Wang Fu, or the Prince Gong Palace, covering 5.7 hectares of land just west of central Beijing, it is the world’s largest courtyard house. And now some of its treasures have flown all the way to Denmark. Numerous objects and artifacts are on display at the Frederiksborg Museum of National History.
The exhibition opened on October 3rd at Frederiksborg, which used to be one of the Danish king’s palaces. It took two years to plan the exhibition and duplicate the same surroundings and furniture, to bring the Prince Gong Palace to Denmark. The organizer says he wants to present the real atmosphere to every visitor.

Sun Xuguang, Director of Beijing Prince Gong Palace Museum, said, "We have tailored this exhibition according to the situation of Frederiksborg. We hope the exhibition will bridge Danish people closer to Chinese culture."
There are 12 exhibiting rooms lying in a straight line. The basic principle of the exhibition is to create a composition of interior-arrangements with furniture, artifacts, paintings and sculptures.
A visitor said, "I think it’s very interesting that this exhibition has come to Denmark."
As an important part of the cultural communication between the two countries, the exhibition has also been visited by Danish Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henry, who attended the opening ceremony.
